Tips & Care for Your Naturable Beeswax Bags & Wraps Set

Your Naturable beeswax bags and wraps are eco-friendly, reusable solutions designed to help you keep your food fresh and your kitchen sustainable. To make sure they stay in top condition, follow these easy, practical care tips:

General Cleaning:

For both bags and wraps: Use cool or lukewarm water with mild, alcohol-free soap or gentle dish detergent. Avoid hot water, which can melt the wax coating.

For bags: Since bags often have seams and folds, ensure you clean inside thoroughly. Turn the bags inside out to wash all areas properly.

For wraps: Clean by gently wiping with a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid scrubbing too hard to preserve the wax layer.

Vinegar Tip: For stubborn stains or odors, you can add a splash of vinegar to your cold water rinse. Vinegar is safe for beeswax and helps eliminate strong smells without damaging the wax coating.

Drying and Storage:

Allow bags and wraps to air-dry thoroughly after washing.

For bags, hang them upside down or full open them to ensure air circulation inside.

For wraps, lay them flat on a clean towel or hang them up to dry.

Store both in a cool, dry area, away from direct sunlight and heat.

Avoid storing them near ovens, microwaves, or windows where direct sunlight could soften the wax.

Usage Tips:

Perfect for fruits, veggies, cheese, sandwiches, bread, and snacks. You can also use them to cover bowls or dishes. Simply use the warmth of your hands to shape the wrap around the food or container, press gently to create a natural seal.

For bags, ensure you don't overfill them to avoid stretching the wax layer. To close, fold the top, press it lightly with your hands, and secure it with the clip for a tight, reliable seal.

Avoid wrapping raw meat or highly oily foods, as these can leave residues that are tough to remove.

Allow hot foods to cool to room temperature before placing them inside bags/wraps to prevent wax melting.

Care in Hot & Humid Climates:

Keep away from direct sunlight and extreme heat to prevent wax from becoming sticky.

If the wax feels sticky due to heat, briefly place your bags and wraps in the refrigerator to firm up the wax again.

Care in Cold Climates:

Beeswax bags and wraps can become stiff or less adhesive in very cold environments.

Warm them gently with your hands before using to restore flexibility.

For bags, avoid freezing them for long periods, as this may weaken the seams.

Short-term freezer storage (up to three weeks) is fine, but ensure food is fully covered to avoid freezer burn.

Refreshing Your Beeswax Bags and Wraps:

To rejuvenate wraps, place on a parchment-lined tray in an oven at 150°F (65°C) for a few minutes, allowing wax to redistribute evenly.

For bags, avoid using the oven method to refresh them. Bags have additional components such as buckles and seams that can be damaged by heat, and it is difficult to ensure the wax distributes evenly. Additionally, the inner sides of the bag may stick together, rendering it unusable.
